Home Secretary and Rt. Hon MP Priti Patel visits Thermoteknix during the 40th UK Home Office Security & Policing Exhibition to see a first-hand demonstration of the company's Augmented Reality Tactical Interface Module (ARTIM) which delivers state-of-the-art head-up display to military and police personnel on the ground.
ARTIM, designed and manufactured in the UK, is being deployed to security and military forces around the world to enhance situational awareness during on-the-move operations.
The compact ARTIM system mounts to the back of the helmet and tracks the user's location and where they are looking, receiving/publishing networked PLI (Position Location Information) data, and rendering an augmented reality overlay to the user. Data from ARTIM is displayed by the Thermoteknix ClipIR XD – a thermal imaging clip-on device mounted on an NVG – providing not only augmented reality data but also thermal imaging fusion.
ARTIM provides heads-up navigation and tracking of friendlies, using GPS and digital terrain elevation data (DTED) to deliver accurate visualisation of geo-spatial information.
Thermoteknix has been designing and manufacturing thermal technology for 40 years and specialises in night vision, thermal imagers, fused imagers, target location systems and augmented reality systems for policing and military applications.
