Thermoteknix Systems Limited designs, develops and manufactures thermal imaging and measuring equipment used in world-wide commercial systems, industrial, security and surveillance applications.

The company was founded in 1982 and retains its position at the forefront of the infrared imaging industry with a wide range of hardware and software products designed to meet the needs of a growing customer base.

The company is privately owned and operates from premises in Waterbeach, Cambridge, UK. It has been recognised by The Queen’s Awards both for Export and Innovation and is ISO 9001:2015 certified.


Who we are looking for

You are an experienced logistics team professional. The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a small team and be a pro-active self-starter and communicator whose role will be to administer the cycle of order fulfilment through to successful delivery.

This position will be based at our Head Office in Waterbeach, just North of Cambridge.


Responsibilities

This role involves processing and progressing all orders from order acceptance/acknowledgement through to delivery and acceptance by the customer, together with all licence/export compliance documentation and invoicing as required. Duties include:

  • Raising and accepting all orders.
  • Liaising with sales, production and customers/agents to obtain all the necessary information on orders prior to shipment.
  • Managing activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to ensure that agreed dates are met.
  • Preparing invoices, pro-forma invoices and delivery notes.
  • Preparing documentation of loads for shipment.
  • Arranging shipments with courier companies and freight forwarders and ensuring goods are shipped in accordance with the Incoterms and the company’s payment terms and export compliance where required.
  • Ongoing review of freight costs and dealing with freight quotations. Matching freight cost invoicing against agreed prices.
  • Maintaining correct filing procedures/record-keeping.
  • Experience of liaison with Chamber of Commerce and Department of Innovation and Trade (DIT) an advantage

Experience

This is a varied role within a dedicated team and experience of working in a similar role is essential, however, training will be given as required. Applicants will have:

  • Previous experience and responsibility in a logistics role (import/export, customs procedures/regulations).
  • Knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Previous knowledge of Sage or similar order fulfilment system.
  • Good planning and organisational skills with an attention to detail and able to adapt to priorities and ad-hoc workloads.
  • Effective communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
  • Committed to the quality of work produced.
  • Experience of controlled goods via SPIRE an advantage.

Computer skills

PC proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook together with accurate typing and computer literacy skills. Previous experience of Sage is preferred however full training will be given.
