Thermal imaging in action: Northern Lights

January 13, 2017

Below you can see some spectacular Northern Lights in a thermal image thanks to a NASA astronaut, Scott Kelly who published images of this phonomenon taken at International Space Station (ISS) 249 miles above Earth.

The Northern Lights (also called aurora borealis) formed over southern Canada and northern USA.

You can read more about the project here.

Thermoteknix was previously involved in another NASA project, LCROSS mission searching for water on the Moon. You can read about our thermal imaging technology used in this project here.
