Thermal imaging in action: finding cure for obesity?

January 9, 2018

Thermal imaging and MRI are being used in a study carried out by Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The study is testing an injection which may help in curing obesity.

The injection changes cells normally storing fat into cells burning the fat.

Thermal imaging and MRI are being used to observe the drug, called RZL-012, “melting” away fat where it is injected.

“There was a significant heating effect of between three and four degrees centigrade where the fat burning was going on.” – said Professor Shmuel Ben-Hasson leading the project.
