Reducing antibiotics in livestock

Scientists from the Texas A&M University are testing a new way of maintaining health among livestock on American farms.

A drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera is flown over a herd of cattle in Amarillo, Texas to check which of the animals develop fever and so need to be given antibiotics.

In the past, when fever was detected in the herd, all cattle were given antibiotics.
