WinStrip Software provides display, analysis and archiving of thermal profile data obtained from one or more Thermoteknix TS50 high speed infrared line scan cameras (also known as "scanning pyrometers”).

WinStrip provides temperature, width and quality measurements for continuous and batch processing in hot strip mills, plate mills in the steel, Aluminium and flat product process industries.

The software consists of two major components:

• The WinStrip Server which is connected directly to the Centurion scanners and third party data generators for communication, diagnostics and data archival onto the system hard disk.
  
• The WinStrip Clients, which provide flexible, and User configurable Windows man-machine-interface (MMI) via TCP/IP to the WinStrip Server.
  

NOTE: WinStrip client MMI software can also reside on the same machine as the Server.

Real time measurements

Multiple Alarms

Temperature based alarms at individual points or differential to edge or references will identify material variations due to process or product inconsistencies.

Closed loop control

Measurements can be absolute or relative to the strip length or width and the data output via analogue or digital interface to third party automation and controls.

The WinStrip software can also be configured to provide simultaneous archiving of the scanner profile data and third party spot pyrometer data throughout the mill. In this way the system can provide “Cradle to Grave” archiving of all thermal data in a mill for each strip or batch product. When files are subsequently retrieved all of the measurements can be compared for the product production life through the process.

WinStrip Configuration

WinStrip software operates on either Windows 98, NT or XP platforms and system features include:

• Live image (2D) map profile displays
  
• 3D thermal profile displays
  
• Scan profile displays
  
• Ten equivalent fixed spot pyrometer signals per scanner (each with optional on line Analogue Output)
  
• Two Edge drop tools per scanner (optional Analogue Output)
  
• Width calculation and display (optional Analogue Output)
  
• Centreline deviation and display (optional Analogue Output)
  
• Matrix analysis (Statistical output) (Via TCP IP or RS 232 / 422)
  
• Strip archiving and retrieval
  
• Time stamp, material type, furnace origin etc data sorting
  
• Client / server application for distributed display via Network topology
  
• Remote “Dial up” diagnostics for support from Thermoteknix engineers in the UK
  
• On line scanner diagnostics and monitoring
