'Flying High' Thermoteknix in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) World Record
Description
The Thermoteknix miniature MIRICLE infrared camera was chosen by Qinetiq as the IR payload aboard its Zephyr High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) UAV which recently smashed the world record for the longest duration unmanned flight.
Zephyr took off from the US Military’s White Sands Missile range and flew non-stop for 54 hours to a maximum altitude of 58,355 feet which by far exceeds the existing record of 30 hours set by Northrop Grumman in 2001.
