The company is internationally known for its leading edge thermal imaging products. Applications for the technology are many and varied. They include: space lab experiments; on track detection of racing car tyre failure; imaging re-perfusion of blood vessels during heart surgery and thermal inspection and monitoring of many industrial processes. Now Thermoteknix has joined the elite corps of Britain's top award winning exporters such as Rolls Royce and Pilkington. The Thermoteknix Centurion kiln scanner is a unique digital infrared instrument which provides real time high resolution shell scanning. Continuous monitoring of the temperature profile over the kiln shell surface can reveal hot spots caused by damage to the refactory lining and coating changes. Early detection allows remedial steps to be taken and results in substantial savings in running costs, as well as maximising production campaigns. Thermoteknix have several hundred systems in use by world leaders in the cement industry and news of the award has been greeted enthusiastically. The Centurion infrared digital line scanner has broken new ground for performance and precision electro-optics and its WinCemо and WinBrixо Refractory Expert system have proved that it is possible to combine both ease of operator use and powerful performance. A particular benefit of the integral software is the production of worst case history files. These reveal isolated hot spots indicating areas of damage and allow online computation of coating thickness. Although the lining may coat over temporarily, knowledge of these areas of weakness allows limited repair of brickwork to be carried out efficiently when the kiln is shut down. This enables timely repairs to be made preventing more serious problems at a later date. An easy to use VCR type control allows operators to review coating changes at the touch of a button. Thermoteknix Centurion shell scanners and WinCemо software are distributed by the company's own agent network and industry giants ABB. Since 1984 Thermoteknix has worked closely with the leading US thermal imager manufacturer, Inframetrics which has exclusive distribution of the Thermoteknix ThermaGRAMо and TherMonitorо infrared image processing ranges. These are industry standards in Aerospace, Predictive Maintenance, Medicine, Micro-chip inspection and countless R&D applications. In the cement industries this thermal imaging combination is also widely used in predictive maintenance applications throughout the plant, providing substantial operational savings and forming the basis of regular maintenance inspection programmes. Centurion line scanners are also supplied to the metal industry, principally steel production from torpedo to coil and also aluminium rolling. Thermoteknix WinStripо a client/server architecture based program has been specially developed for this application.
